FrankanStan
is the comedy team whose humour encompasses the classics from the past to original material performed in a theatrical, vaudeville style all wrapped up in song, dance and audience participation. These two comics create zany characters with their humour coming from everyday events that occur in the lives of the audience. They engage in stand-up routines presented as if it were two old friends nattering at each other over the back fence. Or they become the "ol' boys" sitting at the Park Bench expounding on their theme of the day. Their classic theatrical routines feature the stars from bygone eras as their characters perform scenes as they interpret how they should be performed. The interaction with the audience leads to their participation on stage with FrankanStan and the results are hilarious.
FRANK
is the crusty "leader of the pack" kinda guy who always steers Stan into getting involved in his schemes leaving Stan to deal with the outcome. But he is always fighting for the 50-Plus crowd and their rights but his tirades are not always thought out clearly leaving him with a conclusion that may not be favourable for the cause. His outward gruff persona covers up his heart of gold and it is his compassion for people and his need to do what is right that generally saves the day for this comedy team.
STAN
Although not very bright, through his own way of reasoning he somehow ends up outsmarting the smart. He is an endearing follower who openly accepts what everybody says as the honest truth. He does possess the childish quality of simple deduction. In his performance of the theatrical characters he tries so hard to become that character that not everything may go right as his efforts to maintain a suave sophisticated character always dissipates into a bumbling error-prone activity.
This comedy duo can be backed up by their "friends" a talented group of dancers, singers and actors who join in and create a number of characters and comedy routines that support the antics of FrankanStan and establish their own zany characters completing this musical comedy revue. Featuring original songs like CIRCLING THE DRAIN; FAITH AND GABORA; along with the classic COMEDY TONIGHT.
The style and tempo of FrankanStan lends itself to shows like "The Carol Burnet Show" or "Laugh-In"; fast paced collection of songs, skits, theatre moments and tand-up.
